In our continuing effort to provide our customers with the highest quality, most proficient and well-organized school of music in Austin, we have implemented the following policies and procedures to ensure a wonderful experience for everyone involved.


Music Prep is an institution of higher learning, in which the classical method of music instruction is emphasized. As such, available lesson time slots are limited, and not all students will be accepted into our private lesson program.

If accepted, please understand that you are securing a lesson time slot, not a particular instructor. ALL instructors who teach at Music Prep are professionals and are very capable of teaching you or your child. In the extremely rare instance that a particular instructor is no longer available, Music Prep reserves the right to assign another professional instructor to your chosen time slot to continue with your lessons.


Any and all matters dealing with Music Prep shall be addressed with the director, and not with the individual instructors.


Our program fees are based on a monthly schedule (4 or 5-week months, 5th week is NOT optional), payable in advance. Music Prep requires a two (2) month minimum for all private lessons, payable at lesson sign-up.

There is a one-time registration fee of $35.00

Months are NOT prorated between September 1st – May 31st of any school year, with the exception of specific holidays.


Music Prep conducts business via debit / credit card. Payments for debit / credit cards are automatically charged to the credit card on file at the 1st of the month. Receipts for the payments will be provided via email. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed for tuition charges received after the due date, in cases of non-sufficient funds or declined credit card authorizations.


Withdrawals require a 30-day notice and the completion of our withdrawal form. Any withdrawal with less than the required notice, or conducted via telephone or email, will incur a forfeiture of the remaining tuition and a $35.00 drop fee.


Lessons canceled by the student / family will NOT be rescheduled or refunded. If the school must cancel classes due to circumstances outside of our control, the missed lessons will be credited to your account. Make up lessons due to any other reason will not be credited.
